Can I cook in fat?
Apr. 8, 2010 by Adeline
It is better to avoid fat, boil or oven roast when ever possible. If you must use fat, use olive oil.

I would like to read more about combinations of food from the different categories. For example, may I eat oatmeal with cranberries in it as part of Starch Day?
Jun. 8, 2010 by cheryl, OH
Thank you for your question...You should always keep fruit separate from the other food groups. You can eat as much fruit as you like but when ever possible eat it alone. We will be adding a page about rules of combining shortly, you could also join our mailing list to learn more.

if your going to have a snack is it ok to have food from that days group or does it have to be fruit?
Jul. 14, 2010 by stuart, scotland
I always have fruit for snacks but the same food group is best if you want something more than fruit. Just watch the calories.

is it ok to use fruit juices in cooking(lemon, lime),or is it the same fruit rule?
Aug. 10, 2010 by stuart hughes, edinburgh
Stuart, you should not use fruit at all with other food groups but I am sure that a small squeeze of lemon or lime wouldn't hurt.

should i be using the columns for the first 90 days(combining foods) or should they be kept as seperate as possible?
Jul. 10, 2010 by stuart hughes, scotland
Stuart, you should try to stick to one food group per day for the first 90 days. You can eat fruit but wait an hour before you have your meal after eating the fruit

There is misleading information on the site...In one place it speaks about eating yogurt for breakfast?? I want to succeed, more help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

All you can eat for breakfast is fruit. You can have yogurt on the protein day but not for breakfast.

A normal serving is about a quarter of a chicken or one small steak. With veggies it doesn't matter, you can eat as much as you want.
