The 90 Day Diet and Travelling

I am on my hols at the moment, or should I say on a fact finding mission. We are in Malaysia on the look out for venues that would be ideal for 90 day dieters to get together for some R&R and some motivation.

It is difficult to stick to a diet when travelling and especially when it’s a combination diet like ours.

I am sticking to my fruit for breakfast but have given myself a rule – as long as there is a good 6 hours between my main meals then it is not the end of the World if I have one food group at one meal then a different one at the next.

But in saying that, I am not going to allow this trip to waste all my hard work.

Yesterday was starch so I had my usual fruit for breakfast and then stir-fried veggies for lunch and I came a little unstuck for dinner as it’s impossible to have a low cal Malaysian curry. the rice was not too naughty but heh, what can you do? I’m on holiday!

We are off to a fab island called Lankawi soon, I’m holding high hopes that this could be the place to organise”The 90 Day Dieters” get together. Can you imagine having a week at a resort where they are doing all the food planning for you leaving you to relax on the beach while you effortlessly lose weight? This is my dream so watch this space.

My 5th Week on the 90 day diet.

I am really getting used to this. I must admit that I have had my doubts about the mechanics of the diet, the whys and wherefores of sticking to a food group each day but I think I have worked it out.
I am a serial dieter and have tried many, many, many diets from Weight Watchers to The Cabbage Soup Diet. This is the only one that has really worked for me.
I think it’s because you know that you really need that metabilism change to kick in so that you don’t just put the weight back on at the end of the 90 days and you know that if you don’t stick to it that it won’t change and as soon as you eat normally again you’ll be back where you started.
So “back on our heads” as they say.
For those of you that have wondered why we say…”back on our heads”, I’m going to explain.

It comes from a joke, a rather rude joke but I’ll clean it up as much as I can.
A man was unfortunately sent to hell and when The Devil met him at the surly gates he explained that he had just 3 choices as to where he would like to spend the rest of his death!
He had to choose from three rooms:

Room one had people being made to scrub the floor with their bare handsĀ  – not surprisingly he decided to reject that one.
Room two had people people shovelling coal into a furnace in blazing heat – again another rejection.
Then he came to room three. He was relieved to find that this didn’t seem to be too bad – everyone was drinking tea while standing up to their knees in pig’s dung. I’ll take this one he shouted – definitely this one.
“Very well”, said The Devil, “in you go”!
As the man went over to pick up his cup of tea, a devil’s helper swung the door open and shouted,
“OK guys, end of tea break, back on your heads!”

my fourth week on the 90 day diet

Well, it’s my fourth week….one more week and I’ve got the dreaded water day!

I do feel good though, I feel on top of The World! I’ve lost 5 lbs, I am actually really proud of myself. I want to lose about 15 lbs more and I’ll be happy.

I have manged to create some great low cal meals to fit with the different days:

The fruit day is difficult but you can still do a baked apple, just core a couple of apples, sprinkle on a little brown sugar and bake in the oven.
Then you have fruit salad or fruit punch.
If you are really struggling with this day you could have some low sugar jellies or gums but don’t chew gum as it tells your stomach to expect food so it starts to rumble!
The trick to getting through this day is to drink your fruit as well as eat it. I liquidize a can of sugar free peaches and a can of pineapple, lovely!

I’ll check back in when I’ve got through the water day.

If you have any thing to tell us about the 90 day diet please do let us know.
kindest, Pat

My second week on The 90 Day Diet.

I hate fruit!!!!!
I have decided that there is nothing more boring than an orange or an apple. So now I turn my boring fruits into juice.
The only day that this doesn’t work for me is the fruit day. For some reason I find that only drinking all day makes me really hungry, my body wants to chew so I have found myself tackling the whole fruits on this day, intermingled with a juice drink.
The one thing I am missing is sugar, this diet doesn’t cater for the sweet tooth.

You are allowed a piece of, high cocoa, chocolate on the carb day but have you tried that stuff? Yuk!

You can have cake on the carb day as well but only a small piece. If you are like me you’d rather not have any than to just have a small piece!
But onward and upward, I have lost another 3lbs so I suppose I’d better keep going with it……….

My first week on the 90 day diet.

This diet doesn’t really kick in until the second week but I have noticed a small weight loss of three and a half pounds.
According to my RELIABLE source, (from my ex who lives in Brunei), the weight will fall off now…..can’t wait!

I know you’re die-ing to hear about “my ex who lives in Brunei”.
At 63, over weight and with high blood pressure, his doctor told him he had to lose weight if he wanted to carry on living the high life with his young Philipino girlfriend.

So he did his research and tried a few diets that didn’t work. Then he was told about the 90 day diet by a rather virile looking gentleman who was sharing his sauna at the local gym.

So, 6 months down the line, he has completed the diet plus a further 90 days and he swears it has changed his life.

He’s not back to eating normally now because he’s got used to eating fruit for breakfast…so no more fryups for him!

He says that he looks at his food combinations a little but doesn’t worry about it and eats practically everything he fancies and the weight hasn’t come back.

Not only has he lost weight, he has been able to come off his blood pressure tablets, he has improved his relationship with food and, more importantly, with his young Philipino girlfriend.

I don’t know about you but it sounds good to me!
