The 90 Day Diet and Travelling

I am on my hols at the moment, or should I say on a fact finding mission. We are in Malaysia on the look out for venues that would be ideal for 90 day dieters to get together for some R&R and some motivation.

It is difficult to stick to a diet when travelling and especially when it’s a combination diet like ours.

I am sticking to my fruit for breakfast but have given myself a rule – as long as there is a good 6 hours between my main meals then it is not the end of the World if I have one food group at one meal then a different one at the next.

But in saying that, I am not going to allow this trip to waste all my hard work.

Yesterday was starch so I had my usual fruit for breakfast and then stir-fried veggies for lunch and I came a little unstuck for dinner as it’s impossible to have a low cal Malaysian curry. the rice was not too naughty but heh, what can you do? I’m on holiday!

We are off to a fab island called Lankawi soon, I’m holding high hopes that this could be the place to organise”The 90 Day Dieters” get together. Can you imagine having a week at a resort where they are doing all the food planning for you leaving you to relax on the beach while you effortlessly lose weight? This is my dream so watch this space.

Me before and half way through.

I am quite well known in Internet circles. I am a mentor and a professional speaker. I am Forbes listed as one of the top 30 women entrepreneurs to follow on Twitter, so, there are many people who know me and have seen the change in my size…so I’m not lying guys!
Here is a picture of me before I started this diet….

And here is one of me half way through the diet after having lost one and a half stone…..not bad eh? Not only have I lost weight I feel fantastic and (hope you agree) I look 10 years younger!

If you follow this diet I guarantee that you will lose weight and feel fabulous so come on GO FOR IT!

Cholesterol – good or bad?

Of-course, if you want the 90 Day Diet to really work and you want to lose weight fast you still need to watch your fat intake.

For two reasions, first is that fat has an enormous amount of calories and the second most important reason is because of the health element – in other words the risk of Cholesterol in the blood.

A misconception that some people have is that they can improve their cholesterol numbers by eating ‘good’ cholesterol.
In food, all cholesterol is the same. In the blood, whether cholesterol is ‘good’ or ‘bad’ depends on the type of lipoprotein that’s carrying it.

Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats do not promote the formation of artery-clogging fatty deposits the way saturated fats do. Some studies show that eating foods that contain these fats can reduce levels of LDL- cholesterol in the blood.
Polyunsaturated fats, such as safflower and corn oil, tend to lower both HDL- and LDL-cholesterol.
Edible oils rich in monounsaturated fats, such as olive and canola oil, however, tend to lower LDL-cholesterol without affecting HDL levels.

my fourth week on the 90 day diet

Well, it’s my fourth week….one more week and I’ve got the dreaded water day!

I do feel good though, I feel on top of The World! I’ve lost 5 lbs, I am actually really proud of myself. I want to lose about 15 lbs more and I’ll be happy.

I have manged to create some great low cal meals to fit with the different days:

The fruit day is difficult but you can still do a baked apple, just core a couple of apples, sprinkle on a little brown sugar and bake in the oven.
Then you have fruit salad or fruit punch.
If you are really struggling with this day you could have some low sugar jellies or gums but don’t chew gum as it tells your stomach to expect food so it starts to rumble!
The trick to getting through this day is to drink your fruit as well as eat it. I liquidize a can of sugar free peaches and a can of pineapple, lovely!

I’ll check back in when I’ve got through the water day.

If you have any thing to tell us about the 90 day diet please do let us know.
kindest, Pat
